If your goal is to be a college volleyball player M1 has compiled some various links that will help you with the process.

M1 also has several recommended services that can help begin that process.

Below are two documents regarding a landmark decision by the NCAA to enforce graduation rate standards on all men's and women's sports at Division One institutions.  Each sport and D1 Institution will be regulated to meet certain graduation rates or meet with NCAA penalties.

This is a huge decision obviously and will put the academic background and potential of high school student-athletes in all sports at a much higher rate.  College coaches have to know that kids will graduate and not be borderline.  In many sports this will effect how and who coaches recruit.

Levels of Penalties

  • Teams that fall under the minimum APR will lose scholarships when players who are academically ineligible leave school.
  • Confiscated scholarships cannot be re-awarded for a year.
  • There is a 10% cap on the number of scholarships teams could lose. (Example: A team of 10 VB players on scholarship could lose no more than 2 scholarships).
  • Historical Penalties will be more severe and directed at schools with continued problems; they are yet to be approved.
  • Consecutive years of falling below certain academic standards would lead to recruiting and further scholarship restrictions.  A 3rd straight year could lead to being banned from preseason or postseason games and a 4th would affect D1 Membership status.
